Ok...so I leave for Peru in one month. WOW! I am so excited about getting down there and doing work for Christ. I have been amazed at what God has been doing at T.L. Hanna High, but know there is so much more in store for the school! I will be praying for TLH and The Chill everyday while I am working in Peru this summer.
Today I was reading in 2 Corinthians 12 and saw a verse that I had heard and read before, but with 2 months in Peru on the horizon, it has taken on a whole new meaning for me. Here it is:
"That's why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:10 (NLT)
So it hit me...I am the weakest of all...I question, doubt, worry, become insecure, lust, become greedy, prideful, lie...I have nothing good to offer anyone here or in Peru. Nothing. Nonetheless, God has called me to do His work in both places! In spite of myself, God sees fit to use me...so in that I find strength. In that confidence, I find hope...I find peace...I find that I am strong. Not because of what I have done, but because of what Jesus Christ has done!
So, In conclusion...
Students at TLH...read my blog and tell classmates to read it!
Friends and Family...Pray for me, please. I beg that you lift me up in your prayers. If you have ever done any type of mission work, you understand the spiritual battle that rages.
