The Enemy Has Been Defeated...

I am leaving for Peru in a little over a month and have been super excited for a long time...however, lately I have not been excited about much of anything. I have found myself pretending to care about things and being utterly useless for Christ. Satan has been attacking me, not so much with outer things as an inward thing. I can't really describe it exactly but it has definitely torn me down in the past couple of weeks. So first of all, pray for me! I KNOW God has amazing things that he wants to do through me and need to get over this "funk" so that I can do it. I was pleading with God just a couple of minutes ago for some comfort and strength in this storm I am facing and I randomly opened my Bible expecting God to bless me with something amazing...and He came through again.

Back in November I was struggling with some sin that I needed to rid myself of and I felt like such a failure and I flipped my Bible open and God led me to Romans 15:13. This passage says "I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit." (NLT) So after that, I started walking in confident hope because of God's power and grace.

Fast forward to this afternoon...I had that same prayer..."Lord, give me strength" and he led me to one of the most amazing passages in all of scripture. Mark 16...which is about Christ's resurrection, thats all the strength I need...the power of His resurrection!! Praise God! I love verse 7 in particular..."Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died." WOW! Tell his disciples, including Peter, you know the one that denied him 3 times...the one who was rebuked by Jesus saying "Get behind me Satan" that one. Jesus' grace was extended to Him even though he broke promises to Jesus...over and over.

How dare we think we have done too much evil for God to love us! I sure I'm thankful he didn't stop loving me!

The Chill Outdoor Worship Service is Friday Morning and we will be having Brad Cooper from NewSpring Church speaking...If you go to TLH, be there! I can't mention Christ in class...but he is the ONLY thing worth living for!

Lastly, if you are a non-believer and you wonder why Christians are constantly "bothering" you about this Jesus guy...its because they love you. Jesus left His followers with this command "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned." -John 16:15-16 (NLT)

Jesus loves you and so do I.

Comment if you would like... :)

  1. Love it man! I never can get enough of relevant scripture application. You really should post more often.

John 16:15 would be a great verse to memorize--and put into my calculator program. Haha

  2. How about living for yourself? I can't buy into a religion that demotes the human race and is discrimintory to other humans.

Scripture quotes all seem the same to me. Praise god this, praise got that, He is so great, ect., ect.

    Yeah.

"The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction. But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. As the scriptures say, 'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent'"
